Sweet potatoes, check!

Last night I tried my very first stage 1 baby food (as you can tell from the picture above!) Of course I loved it! Mommy & Daddy gave me sweet potatoes! Since I have been eating my cereal very well Mommy called the doctor to get the OK to start me on foods a little earlier than we had last talked about. Usually they start about 6 months, but she said it was OK to start now since I'm such a good eater! Here is my first taste of the yummy goodness. I wasn't too sure what to think at first, I was expecting some more of my oatmeal. I hate when that happens!

But once I tasted it I thought, "More, please!"

Sissy even helped Mom & Dad feed me. She is such a big help and I love it when she is around. She can always make me smile!

It was a great night. Mommy gave me a bath and then we played for a little bit. Soon after that I got sleepy and it was time for bed. Mommy held me close, told me she loves me, and I drifted off to dreamland.

I rolled!!

I guess this is a big deal so Mommy wanted me to tell you about it. Monday night Mommy and Daddy were playing with me and put me on my tummy for some "tummy time." I didn't used to like laying on my belly but I'm starting to like it more and more. I was laying there and before I knew it, I was laying on my back! I rolled from my belly to my back! I still have yet to master rolling from my back to my belly, but hey, baby steps please! Mom & Dad were so excited. They kept turning me back over on my belly and I kept rolling to my back, I did this about 4 or 5 times before they finally stopped. The first time was a little harder though, I got on my side with my arm up, but I couldn't get my leg over. Finally I got it!

I'm getting so big!

Teeth?

So Mommy & Daddy seem to think that I am teething right now. Sure, it's hard to tell because my hands have been in my mouth constantly since even before I was born, but it's just been getting worse! I think they may be right. Now I really chomp on things when they are in my mouth. Yesterday I put Mommy's finger in my mouth and was going to town on it, she was nice and let me chew on it. It felt good. Then last night Mommy & Daddy gave me some teething toys and boy did I love those. I laid there for a long time and chewed on those!

I even started chewing on my mirror!

And Daddy wonders why I have been loving a lick of a popsicle now and then. It feels so good on my gums!

Home with Mommy

I love when Mommy has her day off during the week! That means I get to stay home with her and play. Yesterday we went and met Daddy for lunch so that was fun, too, I got to see both of them. Here I am when we got home from seeing Daddy. I decided to cooperate with Mommy today and smile for her.

Once we got home all we did was play and rest, it was so much fun! Here are some pictures of me (and Benny) playing.

It was a relaxing, but great day. I love spending time with Mom.

Rewind 28 years

Mommy's hospital picture when she was born:

My hospital picture when I was born:

See much of a resemblance? Funny that even our hands are kind of in the same positions!! You know what they say - like mother, like daughter.

I sure am glad Mommy & Daddy didn't glue one of those silly bows to my head.

Santa Baby

You're kidding?! I get to meet Santa on Saturday?! (My reaction above)

Mommy was getting in the festive mood and tried to take some Christmas pictures this weekend. She had her mind set on getting some cute ones with Christmas lights around me, but they didn't exactly turn out how she wanted (not a good weekend for Mom and the camera!) She did manage to get one she was happy with.

Then Mommy and me were just laying on the floor together playing and I was being silly with the Santa hat. And this time Mommy caught some super cute pictures of me!

OK, I'm done now.

Happy 5 month old birthday to me!

Yesterday I turned 5 months old! Yesterday morning I woke up and I was laying in my crib talking to my Fisher Price Rainforest friends. Mommy came in to tell me, "Happy 5 month old birthday Phia!" I was like, "What?! I can't believe I forgot!" I was in such a good mood so Mommy thought that it'd be a good time to take my 5 month old picture. Well, things didn't go quite how she wanted. It started out with outfit #1.

And I really wasn't cooperating with Mommy. I wouldn't look at the camera, let alone smile. I was too fascinated with the piece of paper that she put in the picture with me.

Mommy thought that she would try a different location, my chair in my room. But this is the best she got out of me. Stupid camera.

Then I spit up on that outfit. On to outfit #2. This one went about the same as the first. Not looking at the camera, playing with the paper, smiling with my eyes closed.

Again, spit up on this outfit. This time Mom just left me in my diaper and thought maybe that would work. We did manage to get ONE of me actually looking at the camera! I'm looking a little chubby though in that picture.

At this point Mom was done for now. She was pretty adamant about getting a picture later, but little did she know I wasn't going to be cooperating then either.

Fast forwarding to last night. After I ate dinner Mom put me in a cute little jean jumper and a pair of my Baby Legs. I have to admit, I looked super cute... but I still just didn't feel like cracking a smile. Although she did make the sign out of something other than paper so I couldn't grab it and crinkle it up.

On to the chair. The pictures speak for themselves.

Mom finally gave up. Although she did manage to sneak the sign back onto my lap when I was getting ready for bed.

I guess that's another reason why Mommy asked Santa for a new camera for Christmas, so she can actually catch my smiles. The camera that we have now takes like 5 seconds to flash and then by the time it does, you end up with a picture like this. Seriously.

Gobble, Gobble

Yesterday was my very first Thanksgiving!! It was so much fun. We went over to Uncle Kelly & Aunt Becky's house for dinner. Well, it was actually lunch since Great Grandma Pauline came to visit. Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Ray brought her and she wanted to get back early so we ate around noon. Well, they did... I was napping while everybody ate. As soon as we got there Grandma Pauline took me and sat with me until I fell asleep.

We didn't really do a lot the rest of the day, just relaxed and spent some time with the family. I did get to go for a ride in my Grandma's walker though, that was fun!

Last night I stayed over at my cousin's house because Mommy & Daddy both had to work today. Mommy emailed Aunt Becky today and told her it was very strange at home without me there. Mommy sure did miss me though. I miss her! I'm having fun playing with my cousins and Aunt Becky though for now. But I can't wait to see Mom & Dad tonight when they pick me up!

I had a perfect 1st Thanksgiving. Coming up next, Christmas. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun, too. Plus I hear that you get presents! When Mommy told me that I was so happy.

What I'm Thankful For...

I wanted to take a minute and tell you what I'm thankfor for.

Great Grandma Pauline. She is 87 and came to spend my first Thanksgiving with me. And she made me this pretty stocking with my name on it! I'm so lucky to have such a special Grandma.

Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Ray. They brought me MORE Baby Legs Grandma even made me a really cool book made of fabric! Grandma spoils me A LOT and I'm thankfor for that. So is Mommy!

My cousins Connor and Carson. They are fun to play with and will always protect me.

Uncle Chad. Today was the first day that I met him. Yes, I know. It's been almost FIVE months and I just met him, but I'm still thankful for him.

Grandpa Dave and Debbie. I didn't get to see them today but I'm thankful to have them in my life.

My Aunt Becky and Uncle Kelly. They let me stay at their house and they play with me! I love to go over there.

My other Grandma and Grandpa - Sue & Scott (those are their real names!) And also my Auntie, Aunt Heather, Emilia, Ellie, Chase & Jackson. Those are my other cousins!

Sissy. I love my sissy so much. I want her to teach me everything she knows when I get bigger because I will always look up to her. I love her.

My Daddy. He is the best Daddy in the world, and I'm not just saying that. I love him more than anything. Well, except Mommy :) I'm kidding Daddy.

Last but not least, my Mommy. She is very special to me and loves me more than aything in this world. I know she would do anything for me and I want to grow up and be like her. I love her this much.

I'm very thankful for my family. I am a very lucky baby girl (even though I don't look like it in this picture!) I was just sleepy, that's all.

Oh, one more thing I'm thankful for. Candy bars and pop. I can't wait until I'm old enough to have them, until then I will just have to look...
